European Youth Bus
24.04.2009

Within the SPF Chevening Fund the FCO has funded a European Youth Fund project implemented by AUKAA members in the regions of Azerbaijan. The European Youth Bus gave AUKAA members - Chevening fellows, scholars and fellows of other British Council education programs the opportunity to use their skills, knowledge and information to raise awareness in the Azerbaijani population (focusing on young people) of human rights, European cooperation, EU and Council of Europe work, NATO, democratic citizenship, child rights, domestic violence, environment and climate change. The project provided a platform for some 5.000 young people to engage in dialogue on these issues. Thousands of booklets, on these issues were published and distributed amongst the youth of the targeted regions in Shaki, Zagatala, Lankaran, Ganja, Hajigabul, Guba, Mingachevir, Masalli.

On April 1, 2009 AUKAA members and students of different Universities appeared on a live TV talk show at Ictimai (Public) TV to discuss the results of the project, and share their findings and ideas for future. The TV talk show took the ideas of the project to a larger audience.
